Is it possible to be a lighthouse in a cave? i.e., doing what a lighthouse does but in a space that is small or unknown or restricted to very few minds.

yes! The function is invariant to the size of the network.

The lighthouse is the node within the network that the other nodes look to to make sense of information (it's a position of power). It can be top down or bottom up (like a CEO or state media that is broadcasting so "bright" that it blocks out smaller lighthouses). If we had a way to modulate how much light each is allowed to broadcast then people could (have a fighting chance to) find the best thing for them on their own

Can you describe more what you were thinking? I want to give examples that feel relevant for the one tomorrow morning if I can find enough. I have a list of people that I believe act as lighthouses for their networks, but I am trying to get people to publish/name it in their own words.

I was just thinking of how I post essays and things about various topics, but very few people like comment or follow me.

I may not be a lighthouse.

Wild to think about how 99% of our cities are dark matter. I know almost nothing of what is actually happening. Isn't it the job of local newspapers to shed light on local issues? Journalism is so broken that citizens have to step up and become citizen journalists to make their voices heard
